About the Position:

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire a Transaction Analyst in our Human Resources Division at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The successful candidate will process and enter routine to complex personnel transactions in human resources databases for human resource, position, employee personal, and job data; enter data for onboarding, separations, additional pay and rewards and recognition; generate reports and queries; ensure compliance with policies, procedures, applicable State and federal laws and regulations; ensure maintenance of historical data regarding transactions; analyze complex information, define and solve discrepancies while providing exemplary customer service; conduct audits and reviews to monitor, report and resolve any potential compliance issues; and evaluate processes and procedures to collaborate regarding workflow improvements. The successful candidate for this position will also maintain the highest level of confidentiality and must manage multiple priorities and participate in training new team members.

Minimum Qualifications

•Working knowledge of human resource principles and practices; of related federal and state laws and regulations; of personnel transactions; of records management and reconciliation; and of proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
•Skill in operating computers and using Microsoft Office applications; and in Cardinal Human Capital Management (HCM).
•Extensive skill with Microsoft Excel.
•Demonstrated ability to analyze data and reach logical conclusions; to work independently and as a member of a team; to prioritize work, using initiative to accomplish work; to interpret and apply policies and procedures; and to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, with diverse individuals and groups.
•Experience using Cardinal Human Capital Management (HCM) and entering employee and position transactions required.
•Progressively responsible human resource experience is required.
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Additional Considerations

• Experience using Oracle eBusiness Suite is preferred.
